Laura Mitchley selected to participate in Summer Institute

For more than 10 years, Discovery Education has provided Summer Institutes to outstanding educators across the country.  These summer institutes are week-long, immersive, residential-style, professional development experiences for a community of educators.  Laura Mitchley, a 2nd grade teacher at New Holland Elementary School, in Eastern Lancaster County School District, was selected from a field of hundreds of highly qualified applicants to participate in this year’s Summer Institute held at the University of North Carolina.  Summer Institute sessions feature seminars and workshops from keynote speakers, the Discovery Education team, and members of the Discovery Education Community.  Educators explore resources, tools, and programs focused on leading and supporting teachers, media specialists, and administrators through the digital transition.  Laura is honored to have been chosen to participate in such a highly sought after experience and is looking forward to using this experience to bring back new strategies, knowledge, resources and best-practices to her fellow educators in ELANCO.
